THE PURPOSE IS TO SUPPORT DENVER EAST HIGH SCHOOL IN ACHIEVING ITS MISSION BY; CLOSING THE FUNDING GAP FOR STUDENTS WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL TO FOSTER COMMUNITY PROMOTING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT SUPPORTING ALUMNI RELATIONS AND PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL.

EAFAF SUPPORTS ALUMNI DEVELOPMENT AND REUNIONS THE HERITAGE HALL MUSEUM EAST HISTORY MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE MUSEUM AND DOCUMENTATION AND PLANNING FOR THE SCHOOLS SESQUICENTENNIAL.


FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR EAFAF FACULTY STAFF GRANTS COMMITTEE RECEIVED 26 GRANT APPLICATIONS TOTALING APPROXIMATELY $96,000. EAFAF FULLY AND OR PARTIALLY FUNDED 21 GRANTS FOR $44,569 AND FUNDED OTHER SCHOOL NEEDS FOR AN ADDITIONAL $5583. THESE FUNDS ENHANCED STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN SCIENCE DANCE MUSIC ENGINEERING MATH JOURNALISM SPECIAL EDUCATION AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS.


THE EAST ANGEL FRIENDS AND ALUMNI FOUNDATION PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING GRADUATING STUDENTS WHO HAVE ATTENDED EAST HIGH SCHOOL FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS AND EXHIBITS EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMICS AS WELL AS STRONG PARTICIPATION IN SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND THE STUDENT MUST DEMONSTRATE CHARACTER AND COMMITMENT TO THEIR EDUCATION. FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE EAFAF BOARD ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THESE SCHOLARSHIPS. FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR THERE WERE OVER 100 APPLICANTS AND EAFAF AWARDED 31 INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIPS RANGING FROM $2,000 - $100,000 FOR A TOTAL OF $192,000 AWARDED.
