FLEX YOUR RIGHTS (FLEX) IS A 501(C)(3) EDUCATIONAL NONPROFIT FOUNDED IN 2002. ITS PURPOSE IS TO EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS DURING POLICE ENCOUNTERS AND PREPARE THEM TO "FLEX" THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS WHEN NECESSARY. WE ALSO HELP PEOPLE FILE AND PUBLISH TRANSPARENT COMPLAINTS THROUGH OUR OPENPOLICE.ORG WEBSITE. SINCE WE OPENED THE COMPLAINT SURVEY IN DECEMBER 2020, WE'VE COLLECTED 3,200 INDIVIDUAL COMPLAINTS. WE'RE WORKING TO SHARE THE DEIDENTIFIED COMPLAINTS DATA WITH UNIVERSITIES, MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO IMPROVE POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY. FLEX ALSO MAINTAINS THE INTERNET'S MOST INFLUENTIAL EDUCATIONAL CONTENT ABOUT PRACTICAL CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS DURING POLICE ENCOUNTERS THROUGH OUR PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORK.
