IT SHALL BE THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION TO SPEAK IN THE NAME OF THE MEMBERS IN MATTERS AS THEY SERVE AND PROMOTE THE PURPOSES OF THE TOTAL OHIO HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SHARE OF THE EDUCATIONAL FUNCTION. IT SHALL FURTHER BE THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF THE OHIO SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION, WITH SPECIAL CONCERN FOR THE DUAL NATURE OF THE SYSTEM, ITS QUALITY, FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY TO SERVE THE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTRUAL NEEDS OF THE STATE, NATION AND WORLD.
