PROVIDE REMEDIAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE OTHERWISE NO MEANS OF ATTENDING SCHOOL. PREPARE CHILDREN TO TAKE THE HAITI NATIONAL EXAM.

Part 3 - Line 4a

1) STUDENT EDUCATION AND LITERACY: PROGRAM STARTED SEPTEMBER, 2011 GGH CURRENTLY HAS 73 ACTIVE STUDENTS. SINCE INCEPTION, WE HAVE GRADUATED 115 STUDENTS, AND WE ARE CURRENTLY SUPPORTING 85 POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS WITH FULL SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDING BOOKS, UNIFORMS AND TUITION.2) ADULT LITERACY: PROGRAM STARTED SEPTEMBER 2022. SINCE INCEPTION, 60 STUDENTS FROM THE COMMUNITY HAVE ATTENDED THE ADULT LITERACY CLASSES. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 60 STUDENTS, AND HOPE TO EXPAND TO 72 STUDENTS. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 2 CLASSES (BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE) OF ADULT LITERACY CLASSES AND A THIRD ADULT LITERACY CLASS WHICH IS MORE FOCUSED ON PREPARATION FOR STUDENTS TO TAKE THE NATIONAL 6TH GRADE EXAMS.3) MUSIC EDUCATION: PROGRAM STARTED SEPTEMBER 2022. SINCE INCEPTION, WE HAVE HAD 60 IN THE FIRST YEAR AND 72 STUDENTS CURRENTLY IN OUR MUSIC PROGRAM. 4) EARTHSHIP BUILDER PROGRAM: WE HAVE BUILT 2.5 EARTHSHIP CLASSROOMS, AND HAVE TRAINED 35 PEOPLE FROM THE COMMUNITY IN EARTHSHIP BUILDING TECHNIQUES. 5 HAVE GONE ON TO BUILD MORE EARTHSHIP BUILDINGS FOR OUR SHELTER HUT PROJECT.5) SHELTER HUT PROJECT: WE HAVE BUILT 2 SHELTER HUTS FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS. OUR PLAN IS TO EXPAND THE PROGRAM TO BUILD 4 HUTS PER YEAR, 2 TEAMS OF 5 BUILDERS. 6) DESPITE THE CURRENT UNREST IN HAITI, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP OUR PROGRAMS RUNNING AND HAVE IN FACT EXPANDED OUR ENROLLMENT.
