THE ORGANIZATION IN ITS MISSION TO SUPPORT THE EXISTING STATE INDIAN MUSEUM, AS WELL AS THE DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION OF THE CALIFORNIA INDIAN HERITAGE CENTER, AND TO FURTHER THE EDUCATIONAL AND INTERPRETIVE ACTIVITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, SPONSORS VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND EXHIBITS AT THE STATE INDIAN MUSEUM. PROGRAMS PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA NATIVE PEOPLE THROUGH HONORED ELDERS DAY AND NATIVE AMERICAN MONTH, NATIVE BASKETRY EXHIBITS AND TOURS. THESE PROGRAMS SERVED OVER 10,000 VISITORS IN THE CURRENT YEAR.
