THE DIOCESE OF MANDEVILLE IS A BRANCH OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH LOCATED IN THE CENTRAL REGION OF JAMAICA. THIS REGION CONTAINS SOME OF THE POOREST COMMUNITIES IN JAMAICA. THE DIOCESE'S ACTIVITIES INCLUDE NOT ONLY RELIGIOUS SERVICES BUT ALSO A WIDE RANGE OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES. THE DIOCESE, FOUNDED IN JULY 1995, CONSISTS OF CHURCHES, CONVENTS, 10 KINDERGARTEN SCHOOLS, 5 PREPARATORY SCHOOLS (GRADES 1-6), A HIGH SCHOOL, A COLLEGE, 4 VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS, 5 MEDICAL CLINICS, 2 ORPHANAGES, AND A HOME FOR THE INDIGENT ELDERLY.
