THE ST. VRAIN HISTORICAL SOCIETY SEEKS TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF LONGMONT AND THE GREATER ST. VRAIN VALLEY BY ACQUIRING HISTORIC HOUSES, SITES, AND PLACES AND RESTORING, PRESERVING, AND EXHIBITING THE PROPERTIES ENCOURAGING, PROMOTING, AND SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO PRESERVE THEIR HISTORY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

HISTORIC HOVERHOME MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORICAL SITE. THIS YEAR HOVERHOME HAD VARIOUS EVENTS CONSISTING OF ONE FLAG DAY EVENT, FIVE REGULAR PUBLIC TOURS, ONE PRIVATE TOUR FOR A LOCAL SENIOR CENTER. A TOTAL OF 278 ATTENDED THESE EVENTS.


THE HOVER FARMSTEAD PRESERVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A HISTORIC FARMSTEAD INCLUDE A CROP DEMONSTRATION PLOT, FARM GARDEN, CHICKEN HOUSE, AND MILL. 102 SELF-GUIDED WALKING TOURS WERE RECORDED.


OLD MILL PARK RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS WHICH ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. EDUCATION AND PROMOTION OF THE HISTORY OF THE ST. VRAIN VALLEY. THE PARK WAS OPEN FOR SELF-GUIDED TOURS FOR THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING ONE PRIVATE TOUR FOR THE LOCAL SENIOR CENTER. APPROXIMATELY 1,115 PEOPLE TOURED THE PARK.
