TO ENHANCE AND ENRICH THE LIVES AND COMMUNITIES OF THOSE WE SERVE AND TO PROVIDE A WELCOMING, INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT OF BEAUTY AND MEANING BY:-CREATING EXCEPTIONAL OPERA AND MUSICAL THEATRE-DELIVERING ENGAGING ARTISTIC AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO DIVERSE COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION-CELEBRATING AND EMBRACING DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND ACCESSIBILITY IN ALL FACETS OF THE ORGANIZATION-PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE HISTORIC OPERA HOUSE AND OTHER PROPERTIES ENTRUSTED TO CENTRAL CITY OPERA-CULTIVAING AND SUPPORTING EMERGING OPERA SINGERS AND PERFORMING ARTS PROFESSIONALS THROUGH WORLD-CLASS TRAINING PROGRAMS

OPERAS AND OTHER PRODUCTIONS - THESE ACTIVITIES PRODUCE WELL-KNOWN OPERA MASTERPIECES, AS WELL AS INNOVATIVE PRODUCTIONS OF REDISCOVERED TREASURES AND AMERICAN WORKS CAPITALIZING ON THE INTIMACY OF THE CENTRAL CITY OPERA HOUSE AND THE NATURAL SETTING OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS. THE SUMMER OPERA FESTIVAL ATTRACTS ACCLAIMED DIRECTORS, CONDUCTORS, AND ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. THE 2021 SUMMER FESTIVAL WAS PRODUCED AT HUDSON GARDENS IN DENVER, AND IN THE OPERA HOUSE GARDENS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR GUESTS AND CASTS DUE TO COVID-19. ADDITIONALLY, SHUTTLE AND PARKING WAS PROVIDED FOR PEOPLE TO BE ABLE TO PARK AT THE FESTIVALS OR BE TRANSPORTED BY SPECIALLY HIRED BUSES TO THE FESTIVALS. THE BONFILS-STANTON FOUNDATION ARTISTS TRAINING PROGRAM IS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG SINGERS. THE PROGRAM OF APPROXIMATELY 30 PARTICIPANTS IS 10 WEEKS OF DAILY OPERA TRAINING, CAREER MANAGEMENT TRAINING, AS WELL AS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES ON THE MAIN STAGE AND ADDITIONAL FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING.


HISTORIC PRESERVATION - CCOHA'S PRESERVATION EFFORTS PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN PRESERVING THE DISTINCTIVE HERITAGE OF THE CENTRAL CITY/BLACK HAWK NATIONAL LANDMARK HISTORIC DISTRICT. THE CCOHA OWNS AND MAINTAINS THE OPERA HOUSE AND 27 VICTORIAN-ERA PROPERTIES, WHICH PROVIDE VITAL SUPPORT FACILITIES AND HOUSING EACH YEAR FOR THE SUMMER FESTIVAL ARTISTS AND STAFF.


EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS - THESE ACTIVITIES BRING OPERA TO A VARIETY OF AUDIENCES THROUGHOUT COLORADO AND NEIGHBORING STATES. IN 2021, CENTRAL CITY OPERA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS REACHED 22,462 CHILDREN AND ADULTS. SPECIAL PERFORMANCES, WORKSHOPS, TOURS, AND OTHER VIRTUAL PROGRAMS ARE TAILORED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF DIVERSE AUDIENCES FROM ALL COMMUNITIES.
