YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IS A FAITH-BASED HOUSING MINISTRY PROVIDING SAFE, DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA LIVING IN SUBSTANDARD HOUSING.

YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HAS COMPLETED 146 HOMES IN THEIR 37 YEAR HISTORY, INCLUDING A 16 HOME DEVELOPMENT, EXTENSIVE HOME REHABILITATIONS, REPLACED DETERIORATING HOMES AND BUILT NEW HOMES. OF THESE 146 HOMES, YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY REHABILITATED 37 HOMES AND BUILT 94 NEW HOMES. THIS FISCAL YEAR, YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COMPLETED 4 NEW HOMES. THIS PAST YEAR, 470 DIFFERENT VOLUNTEERS WORKED ON YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY'S CONSTRUCTION SITES AND MORE THAN 6,087 HOURS WERE LOGGED ON THOSE SITES. 66 VOLUNTEERS DONATED TIME AND SKILLS OFF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE FOR YORK HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, INCLUDING HOURS DONATED FOR THE RESTORE, AND HOURS DONATED BY THE ADVISORY BOARD, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS. (SEE SCHE O) THIS PAST YEAR, 13 APPLICATIONS FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP WERE RECEIVED AND 1 WAS APPROVED. FUTURE BUILDINGS INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL 10 UNITS NEW CONSTRUCTION ON CHESTNUT STREET IN YORK, PENNSYLVANIA.
RESTORE IS A HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL, NON PROFIT-RETAIL PROGRAM OPERATION THAT SELLS DONATED USED AND/OR NEW HOME FURNISHINGS AND HOME IMPROVEMENT MATERIALS. THE PROCEEDS ONCE ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID, GO BACK IN THE BUDGET TO HELP SUPPORT THE MISSION OF BUILDING HOMES FOR THOSE MOST IN NEED TO PURCHASE AFFORD-ABLY. THE PROGRAM WAS DISCONTINUED IN JANUARY 2022 AND WILL BE RESTABLISHED IN NOVEMBER 2022.
