IN LATE 2021, WOBO PARTNERS, EMERGENT LABS AND THE HOOD PLANNER, MARQUITA PRICE, RESURRECTED PLANNING OF THE SHELVED OPEN STREETS EVENT IN EAST OAKLAND, CALLED EAST OAKLAND FUTURES FEST (EOFF). OVER 1000 ATTENDEES ENJOYED COMPLIMENTARY ACTIVITIES AND RESOURCES. 40 VENDORS SOLD GOODS, PROVIDED RESOURCES, OR IDENTIFIED SUPPORT CHANNELS FOR FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS. THIS YEARS BTWD CELEBRATION VILLAGE WAS REPEATED AT THE LAKE MERRITT PERGOLA SITE ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE FESTIVAL ALSO FEATURED A GROUP RIDE WITH OAKLANDS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DIRECTOR, RYAN RUSSO, AND NOTABLE COMMUNITY LEADERS FROM THE OAKLAND PUBLIC LIBRARY AND THE BICYCLIST AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMISSION STARTING FROM THE 81ST AVENUE LIBRARY TO LAKE MERRITT.
