CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, AND COURSES: IN OCTOBER, MTI CONDUCTED AN INTRODUCTION TO MAGAZINE PUBLISHING CONFERENCE IN ABIDJAN, COTE D'IVOIRE. IT WAS THE FIRST ON-SITE-TRAINING EVENT CONDUCTED IN FRANCOPHONE AFRICA. 87 PARTICIPANTS, TRAINERS AND STAFF ATTENDED THE CONFERENCE. WE ALSO PREPARED FOR THE NEXT EVENT IN 10-YEAR PLAN TO PROVIDE TRAINING IN AFRICA.
ONLINE TRAINING: MTI OFFERED SIX FREE WORKSHOPS ON A VARIETY OF TIMELY TOPICS AND MADE PLANS FOR SIX MORE FOR 2020. THE ONLINE WORKSHOPS WERE VIEWED ONLINE 169 TIMES BY VIEWERS FROM 24 COUNTRIES. WE ALSO CONDUCTED TWO ONLINE COURSES. 30 PUBLISHERS FROM 9 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATED IN THESE INTENSIVE COURSES. MTI ALSO OFFERED 6 FREE EBOOKS AND 6 ONLINE TRAINING VIDEOS FOR WEB-BASED VIEWING. BY THE END OF THE YEAR OUR E-BOOKS WERE DOWNLOADED 340 TIMES AND VIDEO TRAINING WATCHED 39 TIMES.
PERSONAL CONSULTING: EACH MONTH, THE MTI PRESIDENT AND STAFF HANDLED EMAILS AND SOCIAL NETWORKING CONTACTS FROM AN AVERAGE OF 70 TO 80 CHRISTIAN PUBLISHING STAFF IN THE THIRD WORLD ASKING FOR INFORMATION, ADVICE, OR SIMPLY MAKING FRIENDLY CONTACT. OTHER MTI STAFF HANDLED EMAILS FROM MANY MORE PEOPLE ASKING FOR INFORMATION ON RESOURCES, CONFERENCES, OR OTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. MANY OF THESE CONTACTS RESULTED IN AN EXCHANGE FOR SIX OR MORE EMAILS.
WEBSITE: IN 2019 WE CONTINUED TO UPDATE AND FINE-TUNE OUR WEBSITE TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF PUBLISHERS AROUND THE WORLD. OUR EXTENSIVE WEBSITE HAS HUNDREDS OF FREE DOWNLOADABLE RESOURCES FOR PUBLISHERS AND ARCHIVES OF WEBINARS AND TRAINING VIDEOS. THERE IS ALSO A CONTINUALLY UPDATED DIRECTORY OF CHRISTIAN MAGAZINES AROUND THE WORLD.RESOURCE MATERIALS: MTI DISTRIBUTED TRAINING MANUALS, BOOKS AND DVD COURSES TO CHRISTIAN PUBLISHING STAFF AROUND THE WORLD. IN ADDITION TO PHYSICAL COPIES, 26 EDITIONS OF THE MANUALS IN A VARIETY OF LANGUAGES ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD FROM THE WEBSITE.
