Part 3
IN 2022 THE RMLL RECEIVED A $30,000 DONATION FROM THE BORGEN FAMILY FOUNDATION, EARMARKED FOR 2023 STAFF SALARIES. WE USED THAT GENEROUS DONATION AS A CHALLENGE GRANT FOR OUR YEAR-END FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN. WE RAISED OVER $80,000 THANKS TO THE BORGEN FAMILY FOUNDATION'S CHALLENGE GRANT. OUR MAIN FOCUS OVER 2022 WAS THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF TWO PIVOTAL PLANNING PROJECTS FOR OUR HEADWATERS SITE, BUFFALO PEAKS RANCH IN SOUTH PARK COLORADO: - THANKS TO GRANTS FROM THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA, THE STATE HISTORICAL FUND, AND THE PARK COUNTRY HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE, WE HIRED ENGINEERS AND CONSULTANTS TO HELP US PLAN FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE RANCH'S HISTORIC LAMBING BARN. OUR GOAL IS TO USE THE STRUCTURE FOR PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS. - WE ALSO UNDERTOOK AN EVEN MORE AMBITIOUS PLANNING PROJECT IN 2022. THANKS TO THE PARK COUNTY LAND AND WATER TRUST FUND WE EMBARKED ON A YEAR-LONG MASTER PLAN FOR THE ENTIRE BUFFALO PEAKS RANCH. CONTAINING THE WORK OF MANY CONSULTANTS, THE RANCH'S MASTER PLAN WILL BE COMPLETED IN MARCH 2023. SMALLER GRANTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ENABLED US TO PRESENT PROGRAMS AND AUTHOR TALKS AT THE RANCH, AND TO ALSO LAUNCH A NEW CITY BOOK CLUB SERIES - THE DENVER CITY PARKS BOOK CLUB SERIES
