Part 3 - Line 4a
VALUE OF MEMBERSHIP, EDUCATION, AND NETWORKING MAKE UP THE CORNERSTONE OF THE SOUTHERN ATLANTIC HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE (HERE AFTER SAHA). DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020, SAHA ADDED VALUE FOR ITS MEMBERS IN EVERY AREA. SIGNIFICANT COST SAVINGS WERE GENERATED BY CONTINUED CONTRACT EXPANSION AND NEGOTIATION. THESE SAVINGS OFFSET THE COST OF MEMBERSHIP FOR EACH MEMBER HOSPITAL. JOINT TEAM MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR IMPROVED COMMUNICATION EFFECTIVENESS AND ALLOWED FOR ADAPTATION TO MARKET CHANGES AND HEALTHCARE REFORM. THE COLLABRATION PUSHED MEMBER HOSPITALS TO HIGHER LEVELS OF EXCELLENCE. IN ADDITION TO CONTRACT SAVINGS, ANOTHER OF SAHA'S STRENGTHS IS THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT IT PROVIDES FOR ITS MEMBERS. MANY CLASSES ARE FREE OR LOW COST EDUCATION SESSIONS ON CURRENT PERTINENT INDUSTRY TOPICS AND OFFER CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CREDITS TO ATTENDEES. IN ADDITION TO IN-PERSON CLASSES, SAHA OFFERS ONLINE AND ON-DEMAND COURSES. THIS YEAR COURSES OFFERED BY SAHA INCLUDED CDI: STEAL THE PLAYERS' PLAYBOOK AND BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME, OPTIMIZING PALLIATIVE CARE, WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT HIPPA BUT DIDN'T, AND EFFECTIVELY NAVIGATING PATIENT ACCESS IN THE NEW AGE OF COVID-19.
