PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN HANDLING THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF THE SOUTHAMPTON COMMUNITY BY ADDRESSING THE NURSING SHORTAGE, LACK OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND IMPROVE ESSENTIAL SERVICES FOR THE SOUTHAMPTON HOSPITAL WHICH REACHED DIRE PROPORTIONS WHEN COVID-19 HIT THE LONG ISLAND COMMUNITY VERY HARD. DURING THE PANDEMIC NECESSARY FUNDING WENT TO PURCHASE KEY EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO CARE FOR CRITICALLY ILL PATIENTS SUCH AS VENTILATORS, BIPAP AND HIGH-FLO OXYGEN MACHINES; HHS PROCURED PPE FOR FRONTLINE AND FIRST RESPONDERS. HHS FUNDED THE OPENING OF SOUTHAMPTON'S FIRST POP UP COVID TESTING CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, HHS PROCURED LIFE SUSTAINING HELMETS FOR THE ICU UNIT.
ASSISTANCE AND CRISIS INTERVENTION FOR THE NEEDY WHICH INCLUDED EMERGENCY HEATING/AC REPAIR, RENT, MEDICAL INSURANCE AND BILL PAYING, MEDICAL TREATMENT AND CARE.
