OUR MISSION IS TO FIND LOVING HOMES FOR RESCUED DOGS, MOSTLY RACETRACK GREYHOUNDS, BUT ALSO NON-RACERS AND GREYHOUND MIXES. OUR GOAL IS TO SAVE AS MANY DOGS AS WE CAN WHILE MAINTAINING A QUALITY PROGRAM FOCUSED ON EACH INDIVIDUAL DOG AND PROSPECTIVE ADOPTERS' NEEDS. TO THIS END, WE SERVE AS ADVOCATES FOR EACH PERSON ADOPTING AND EACH DOG WELCOMED INTO THEIR HOME AS FAMILY.

SHELTER AND ADOPTION PROGRAM: GAC SAVES DOGS DISCARDED BY THE GREYHOUND RACING INDUSTRY FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS. THIS WORK WAS TRANSFERRED TO SAN DIEGO HUMANE SOCIETY IN FEBRUARY 2023 WHEN CASH, REAL PROPERTY, AND ALL OTHER FIXED ASSETS USED IN GAC'S OPERATIONS WERE TRANSFERRED TO THIS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE AND SHELTER FOR GREYHOUNDS FOR ONE YEAR AFTER THE CALIENTE, MEXICO GREYHOUND RACETRACK CLOSES. ANY OF GAC'S TRANSFERRED ASSETS REMAINING AFTER THIS DATE MAY BE USED FOR SAN DIEGO HUMANE SOCIETY'S OPERATIONS. IN FEBRUARY 2023, 290,000 IN CASH, AND 332,490 IN FIXED ASSETS WERE TRANSFERRED TO SAN DIEGO HUMANE SOCIETY AS GAC CONTINUES TO CLOSE OPERATIONS. GAC IS ANTICIPATED TO FILE ITS FINAL 990 FOR ANY REMAINING ASSET DISTRIBUTIONS COMPLETED IN 2024 NEXT YEAR.
