TO FURTHER THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE AND THE DELIVERY OF LEGAL SERVICES TO THE UNDERSERVED.

THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT (DVP) ASSISTS SELF-REPRESENTED LITIGANTS IN RESTRAINING ORDER CASES. DVP PROVIDES LEGAL INFORMATION, REFERRALS, AND INDIVIDUAL SERVICES WITH COURT FORMS. DVP RECRUITS AND TRAINS VOLUNTEER LAWYERS AND LAW STUDENTS WHO WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH LITIGANTS TO PREPARE THE COURT FORMS WITH REVIEW BY THE PROJECT ATTORNEY. IN ADDITION TO FUNDS RECEIVED FROM IOLTA, THE PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED BY A PARTNERSHIP GRANT THROUGH THE STATE BAR OF CALIFORNIA, A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES MAYOR'S OFFICE, AND COUNSEL FOR JUSTICE'S FUNDRAISING DEPARTMENT.


THE IMMIGRATION LEGAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS CONCERNING THEIR IMMIGRATION, NATURALIZATION AND CITIZENSHIP STATUS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY A TEAM OF STAFF, VOLUNTEER LAWYERS AND LAW STUDENTS. THIS PROJECT IS SUPPORTED BY FUNDS FROM THE STATE BAR LEGAL SERVICES TRUST FUND WHICH ADMINISTERS AND ALLOCATES INTEREST ACCRUED ON FUNDS DEPOSITED IN INTEREST ON LEGAL TRUST ACCOUNTS (IOLTA) AND EQUAL ACCESS FUNDS. IN ADDITION, THIS PROJECT IS SUPPORTED BY A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES, A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, COUNSEL FOR JUSTICE'S FUNDRAISING EFFORTS, AND PROCESSING FEES PAID BY CLIENTS OF THE IMMIGRATION LEGAL ASSISTANT PROJECT.


THE VETERANS LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICES TO ASSIST VETERANS IN REMOVING LEGAL BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT BY FOCUSING ON THREE AREAS: MISDEMEANOR EXPUNGEMENTS, CLEARING TICKETS AND WARRANTS, AND REINSTATING THEIR CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSES. IN ADDITION TO FUNDS RECEIVED FROM IOLTA, THE VETERANS LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT RECEIVES FUNDING FROM COUNSEL FOR JUSTICE'S FUNDRAISING DEPARTMENT, AND DONATIONS FROM CORPORATIONS AND OTHER COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS THAT SUPPORT VETERANS' SUCCESSFUL REINTEGRATION INTO THE LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY AFTER THEIR MILITARY SERVICE.
