THE CALIFORNIA COLORECTAL CANCER COALITION C4 IS ON A MISSION TO SAVE LIVES AND REDUCE SUFFERING FROM COLORECTAL CANCER IN ALL CALIFORNIANS.

THE CALIFORNIA COLORECTAL CANCER COALITION C4 HAS HAD A BUSY YEAR ON MANY FRONTS, INCLUDING INCREASING OUR COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM TO NOW INCLUDE A NEW THREE-WAY PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES-- EVERY WOMAN COUNTS PROGRAM AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH TO LAUNCH A NEW BREAST AND COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENING IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM BCCSIP. FOR CYCLE 1, WE DISTRIBUTED 98,562 TO SIX FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTERS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA IN 2023 TO INCREASE SCREENING FOR BOTH CANCERS THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS. WE ALSO COMPLETED THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR FUNDING OF CYCLE 2 GRANTS THAT WENT INTO EFFECT JANUARY 1, 2024, WITH THE PREPARATORY PHASES HAPPENING DURING 2023. AS PART OF THE CYCLE 2 AWARDS, WE INCREASED THE OVERALL AMOUNT AVAILABLE FOR FUNDING AND EARMARKED 185,000 FOR EIGHT AWARDS, INCLUDING AN INCREASE IN INDIRECT COST INCOME FROM BOTH FUNDING CYCLES FOR C4S 2023 CALENDAR FISCAL YEAR.
