CITIZENS PLANNING ASSOCIATION IS A NONPROFIT GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION THAT FOCUSES ON COUNTYWIDE LAND USE ISSUES. WE ADVOCATE FOR THE BEST STANDARDS OF DESIGN AND NATURAL RESOURCE PROTECTION IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES AND PROTECT THE HERITAGE OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY. TO FURTHER THIS MISSION WE INFORM, EDUCATE, AND ENGAGE WITH RESIDENTS AND DECISION MAKERS; ENCOURAGE CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT; AND SERVE AS A WATCHDOG FOR OUR PRIORITY OBJECTIVES.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CITIZENS PLANNING ASSOCIATION ARE TO PROTECT THE NATURAL ASSETS OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY; TO EDUCATE THE RESIDENTS OF THIS AREA TO THE PROBLEMS OF UNREGULATED GROWTH; TO COOPERATE WITH PRIVATE GROUPS AND PUBLIC OFFICES IN DESIGNING PLANNING GOALS FOR OUR COMMUNITIES AND SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE; TO CONDUCT A BROAD EDUCATION PROGRAM IN BEHALF OF SUCH OBJECTIVES; AND TO MAINTAIN A STAFF AND CENTER FOR THEIR EFFECTIVE REALIZATION.
