THE MISSION OF THE YWCA IS TO FOSTER THE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN A WORLD OF PEACE, RACIAL JUSTICE, DIGNITY, FREEDOM AND EQUALITY FOR ALL.

ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE 2020-2021 YEAR INCLUDE:-OUR CHILDCARE,WORLDTOTS LA, PROVIDES EXCELLENT CHILDCARE DEVELOPMENT TO OUR MOST PRECIOUS CHARGES, AND THE TEACHERS ARE MUCH LOVED AND CONTINUE TO SEE OUR WORLDTOTS CHILDREN THRIVE TO GET READY FOR THE KINDERGARTEN PART OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT.-2019-20 WAS A PERIOD OF COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS AND COMPLIANCE WITH COUNTY, STATE, AND CDC PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS. HOWEVER, AS ESSENTIAL WORKERS, WE WERE ABLE TO KEEP OUR CHILDCARE OPERATIONS OPEN.-WE BEGAN TO APPLY FOR GRANTS TO GROW PROGRAMS.-AS PART OF OUR HEALTHY FUTURES PROGRAM, WE BEGAN A WEEKLY FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO ADDRESS RISING FOOD INSECURITY PROBLEMS IN OUR AREA.-THE RACIAL JUSTICE PROGRAM PRODUCED A VIRTUAL SEE IT END IT FILM AND ARTS FESTIVAL TO BRING AWARENESS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING ISSUES.-THE THRIFT STORE CONTINUED TO ESTABLISH NEW PROCEDURES FOR ACCEPTING DONATIONS AND SANITIZING ITEMS.-CONTINUANCE OF THE ENCORE PLUS MAMMOGRAM PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH NO INSURANCE FOR THE EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER. DESPITE THE DIMINISHED FUNDING, THIS PROGRAM SAVED LIVES AS WELL AS EXPANDED OUTREACH AREAS.-HOLIDAY PROGRAMS PROVIDED 50 THANKSGIVING BASKETS FOR FAMILIES AND PREMADE HOLIDAY MEALS FOR OVER 60 PEOPLE. OUR BREAKFAST WITH SANTA PROGRAM WAS SCALED BACK TO DRIVE BY/WALK BY EVENT. ADOPT A FAMILY SERVED 50 FAMILIES.
