THE ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS THE ANNUAL LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR AND NUMEROUS EVENTS DURING THE YEAR WHICH ADVANCE AND PROMOTE AGRICULTURAL, HORTICULTURAL, VITICULTURAL, INDUSTRIAL, AND OTHER INTERESTS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

YEAR-ROUND FAIR-TYPE EVENTS: LACFA RENTS ITS FACILITIES TO VARIOUS OUTSIDE PROMOTERS OF EVENTS WHICH INCLUDE EQUINE, HOME, CRAFT, MOTOR, ELECTRONIC, AND OTHER SHOWS. FOR THE BEGINNING OF 2021, THE GROUNDS CONTINUED TO BE SHUT DOWN TO PUBLIC EVENTS DUE TO COUNTY GUIDELINES RELATED TO COVID. IN MAY 2021, LACFA PIVOTED TO BECOME AN EMERGENCY INTAKE SITE FOR UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN, WORKING TOGETHER WITH SEVERAL FEDERAL PROGRAMS AND AGENCIES.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR: THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR IS ONE THE LARGEST COUNTY FAIRS IN THE UNITED STATES. ITS PURPOSE IS TO ADVANCE AND PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURAL, HORTICULTURAL,INDUSTRIAL AND OTHER INTERESTS OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY THROUGH THE EXHIBITION OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY, DAIRY PRODUCTS, HOUSEHOLD AND FINE ARTS, AND SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS ACTIVITIES WERE RESTRICTED IN 2021. AS COUNTY COVID RESTRICTIONS WERE LIFTED, LACFA WAS ABLE TO REGROUP TO PUT ON A "MINI"VERSION OF THE FAIR IN SEPTEMBER "2021 BITE SIZE FAIR AND BRING BACK SOME YEAR-ROUND EVENTS SUCH AS ELF ON THE SHELF.
