THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF NEWTON CENTER IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE ACADEMIC AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO STUDENTS. (REFER TO ARTICLE III OF THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION FILED ON OR ABOUT JUNE 19, 2001).

NEWTON CENTER PROVIDES ACADEMIC-FOCUSED AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, STUDENT CAMPS, AND ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA AREA. THROUGH JUNE, THESE PROGRAMS WERE MODIFIED BECAUSE OF THE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC TO OFFER FULL-DAY DISTANCE LEARNING AND HYBRID LEARNING SUPPORT. THESE PROGRAMS SERVED ABOUT 650 STUDENTS FROM NINE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAMPUSES.


NEWTON CENTER OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO ASSIST FAMILIES WHO REQUEST ASSISTANCE THROUGH A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION OR WHO ARE RECOMMENDED BY A SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR AS A VULNERABLE LEARNER AS WELL AS TO FAMILIES WHERE ONE OF THE CHILD'S LEGAL GUARDIANS IS AN EDUCATOR. IN 2021, NEWTON CENTER OFFERED $303,614.20 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
