HEALTH CONNECTED EQUIPS YOUNG PEOPLE WITH INFORMATION, SKILLS, AND SUPPORT TO MAKE THOUGHTFUL CHOICES ABOUT THEIR RELATIONSHIPS AND SEXUAL HEALTH THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES. WE DO THIS THROUGH THREE PROGRAMS: YOUTH SERVICES (CLASSROOM-BASED PUBERTY AND SEXUAL HEALTH INSTRUCTION), PROVIDER SERVICES (TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR SCHOOLS AND YOUTH PROVIDERS), AND PARENT SERVICES (SUPPORT FOR PARENTS AND FAMILIES).

YOUTH SERVICES: HEALTH CONNECTED PROVIDES CLASSROOM-BASED INSTRUCTION ON PUBERTY AND SEXUAL HEALTH TO SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS IN THE BAY AREA. DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR, HEALTH CONNECTED SERVED 13,075 STUDENTS THROUGH THE YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM.


PROVIDER SERVICES: HEALTH CONNECTED PROVIDES TEACHER TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR SCHOOLS, DISTRICTS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS SEEKING TO IMPLEMENT PUBERTY EDUCATION OR SEXUAL HEALTH INSTRUCTION FOR THEIR STUDENTS. HEALTH CONNECTED TRAINED 934 TEACHERS DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR REACHING AN ESTIMATED 28,000 STUDENTS ACROSS CALIFORNIA.


PARENT SERVICES: RECOGNIZING THAT SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION EXTENDS WELL BEYOND THE CLASSROOM,HEALTH CONNECTED PROVIDES WORKSHOPS AND INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS FOR PARENTS TO LEARN ABOUT THE INFORMATION PRESENTED IN CLASSROOMS AND HELP BUILD THEIR SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE AS THEY ENGAGE IN ONGOING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT SEXUAL HEALTH AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR KIDS AT HOME. DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR, HEALTH CONNECTED SERVED 4,074 PARENTS ACROSS CALIFORNIA THROUGH THE PARENT SERVICES PROGRAM.
