Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC CONTINUES TO IMPACT SOME OF THE LIONS CLUB OF WEST MARINS NORMAL PROGRAM SERVICES. WE STILL WERE NOT ABLE TO HAVE OUR ANNUAL SPEAKERS CONTEST DUE TO THE CONTINUED LIMITED IN PERSON ACTIVITIES AT TOMALES HIGH SCHOOL. THE LIONS CONDUCTED VISION SCREENING FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WITHIN SHORELINE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. STUDENTS FROM WEST MARIN AND TOMALES SCHOOLS UNDERWENT THE VISION SCREENING. SIGNIFICANT FUNDING FROM THE LIONS CLUB OF WEST MARIN WAS DIRECTED TO YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAMMING AT THE WEST MARIN COMMUNITY SERVICES. AS IS THE CASE EACH YEAR, THE LIONS COLLECTED A LARGE NUMBER OF EYEGLASSES TO SEND TO OUR DISTRICT EYEGLASS WAREHOUSE CENTER; THESE EYEGLASSES ARE REPAIRED AND REPURPOSED FOR DISTRIBUTION TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO AFFORD EYEGLASSES. THE LIONS CLUB OF WEST MARIN CONTINUED OUR ANNUAL GIVING TO SEVERAL TOMALES HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE HIGH SCHOOL BOOSTERS CLUB AND PROJECT GRAD (SAFE AND SOBER GRADUATION CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES.) SUPPORT WAS ALSO PROVIDED TO NATIONAL PROGRAMS (LION IN SIGHT AND LIONS CANINE COMPANIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE.) THE WESTERN WEEKEND PARADE WAS BROUGHT BACK THIS YEAR TO THE DELIGHT OF MANY IN THE WEST MARIN COMMUNITY. THIRTY-FIVE ENTRIES PARADED DOWN MAIN STREET, POINT REYES STATION, IN A COLORFUL DISPLAY OF MUSIC, DANCE, MARCHING, AND HORSEBACK RIDING. FOLLOWING THE PARADE, FOLKS ENJOYED FOOD, MUSIC, AND EACH OTHERS COMPANY AS THE AFTERNOON WESTERN WEEKEND FESTIVITIES CONTINUED.
