Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

CHILD CARE - WE KEPT OUR SCHOOL GOING DURING THE CORONAVIRUS SHELTER IN PLACE MARCH 16-JUNE 30, 2020 BY SHIFTING IMMEDIATELY TO OFFERING REMOTE ONLINE SERVICES TO ALL 146 OF OUR CHILDREN, WHO WERE TWO MONTHS OLD TO SIX YEARS OLD, AND TO THEIR FAMILIES. WE OPENED BACK UP FOR FULL ON-SITE SERVICES ON JULY 1, 2020 AND HAVE REMAINED OPEN AND OPERATING WITH AWARD WINNING SERVICES EVER SINCE. WE WERE SELECTED BY THE CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO IN THE SUMMER OF 2020 TO OPERATE THEIR NEW CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER FOR 48 CHILDREN IN THEIR NEW 13 STORY PERMIT BUILDING. OUR INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM IS BASED ON WORLD-WIDE BEST PRACTICES INSPIRED BY THE PREPRIMARY SCHOOLS IN REGGIO EMILIA, ITALY AND ARE A MODEL FOR EARLY CARE AND LEARNING PROGRAMS IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND BEYOND. OUR CHILD-CENTERED "EMERGENT CURRICULUM" FOR INFANTS THROUGH PRE-KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN IS BASED ON CHILDREN'S INTERESTS AND FASCINATIONS AS THE PRIMARY LEARNING VEHICLES FOR OUR COLLABORATION WITH THEM AS OUR POWERFUL, COMPETENT, EQUAL PARTNERS IN REGULARLY ACHIEVING OPTIMAL LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT. THE DAILY ACTIVITIES FEATURE IN-DEPTH MULTI-MEDIA EXPLORATIONS AND A PROJECT APPROACH. THIS CO-CONSTRUCTIVE LEARNING MODEL IS SUPPORTED BY EXCEPTIONAL PARENT AND EXTENDED FAMILY PARTICIPATION. ONE RESULT IS A REALIZATION AND BETTER UNDERSTANDING BY PARENTS, FAMILY MEMBERS, GEOGRAPHIC NEIGHBORS, AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS OF THE AMAZING CAPACITIES OF CHILDREN. WE CONTINUE TO DOCUMENT RELEVANT EXAMPLES DAILY AND MAKE THEM AVAILABLE ON OUR PRIVATE AND PUBLIC WEBSITES, BY PRESENTATIONS TO THE PUBLIC, AND DURING OUR ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE, MANY FEATURED FESTIVAL OF LEARNING IN MAY, NOW IN ITS 17TH YEAR. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR WE HAVE OBTAINED GRANTS AND LOANS TO KEEP SOME STAFF EMPLOYED AND THE PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR PARTICIPATING FAMILIES.
