COMMUNITY ORGANIZING:GOAL/PURPOSE: TO PROMOTE SELF RELIANCE, PARTICIPATION AND SELF DETERMINATION. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ORGANIZATIONS AND NETWORKING WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE CIVIC PARTICIPATION. DURING THE PAST FISCAL YEAR, FOURTEEN ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY ASIAN LAW ALLIANCE PARTICIPATED IN FOUR NETWORKS.


LEGAL COUNSELING:GOAL/PURPOSE: TO PROVIDE EQUAL ACCESS TO THE LEGAL SYSTEM. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, LEGAL CONSULTATION AND LEGAL REPRESENTATION. DURING THE PAST FISCAL YEAR 1,458 INDIVIDUALS WERE ASSISTED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.


COMMUNITY EDUCATION:GOAL/PURPOSE: TO PREVENT LEGAL CRISIS THROUGH AWARENESS OF LEGAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE PRESENTATIONS AND PAMPHLETS ON LEGAL TOPICS OF INTEREST TO THE COMMUNITY. DURING THE PAST FISCAL YEAR 2,257 INDIVIDUALS WERE REACHED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. IN ADDITION TO THESE PRESENTATIONS, SOCIAL/DIGITAL MEDIA WAS ALSO UTILIZED FOR OUTREACH PURPOSES DUE THE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDERS OF COVID-19.
