DURING THE 2023-2024 INAUGURAL SEASON OF THE SCOTTSDALE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA, FIVE ORCHESTRAL CONCERTS AND ONE CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT WERE PERFORMED FOR AN AUDIENCE OF 2846. THE SCOTTSDALE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA PRESENTED MUSIC OF UNDERREPRESENTED COMPOSERS AS WELL AS THE MASTERPIECES OF THE SYMPHONIC REPERTOIRE, FOSTERING AN INTEREST AND APPRECIATION OF SYMPHONIC MUSIC BY INDIVIDUALS OF DIVERGING CULTURES AND BACKGROUNDS. REPERTOIRE INCLUDED BEETHOVENS SYMPHONY NO. 6, BRAHMS SYMPHONY NO 2, PRICES DANCES IN THE CANEBRAKES, STILLS MOTHER AND CHILD, DVORAKS SYMPHONY NO. 9, RESPIGHIS PINES OF ROME AND COPLANDS QUIET CITY. THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORED THE SCOTTSDALE CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES, CONSISTING OF FREE CONCERTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY. THE SCOTTSDALE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA IS COMMITTED TO BUILDING AN INCREASINGLY DIVERSE AUDIENCE AND PROVIDING ALL WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE WITH CLASSICAL MUSIC. WE DO THIS BY OFFERING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS BEHIND THE BATON, A PRE-CONCERT CHAT WHERE OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR SHARES THE STORIES BEHIND THE MUSIC. IN ADDITION, WE OFFERED FREE ORCHESTRAL CONCERT TICKETS TO ANYONE THAT COULD NOT AFFORD OUR $15 TICKETS, STUDENT DISCOUNT TICKETS, AND FREE TICKETS FOR MILITARY VETERANS.
