TO DEVELOP OUR LOCAL INTO A MEMBERSHIP THAT IS INVOLVED, EDUCATED, ACTIVE AND EMPOWERED. OFNHP SERVICED MANY MEMBERS WITH GRIEVANCES AND OTHER EMPLOYMENT AND CONTRACT RELATED MATTERS. THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES HEALTH CARE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND SEEKS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS ABOUT HEALTH RISKS AND HOW TO LIVE HEALTHIER LIVES.

THE UNION REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 5,400 HEALTH CARE WORKERS AT KAISER, ST. CHARLES HEALTH AND PEACEHEALTH FACILITIES IN THE GREATER PORTLAND, OREGON AND VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON AREA AS WELL AS BEND, OREGON. THE UNION EMPLOYED FULL-TIME STAFF TO SERVE MEMBERS NEEDS AND TO PROVIDE REPRESENTATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS. THE LOCAL KEEPS MEMBERS INFORMED ABOUT WORKPLACE ISSUES AND LABOR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS THROUGH MEETINGS, PUBLICATIONS, ETC. THE UNION ALSO PROVIDES CONTRACTUAL, EMPLOYMENT RELATED, LEGAL ASSISTANCE AND INCREASES MEMBERSHIP THROUGH RECRUITING PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS AND ORGANIZING NEW BARGAINING UNITS. THE LOCAL NEGOTIATES CONTRACTS FOR MEMBERS THROUGH THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING PROCESS.
