ICCD ACTIVELY INVOLVES DIVERSE GROUPS AND CREATES PARTNERSHIPS TO IDENTIFY PROJECTS, SHARE LEADERSHIP ROLES, AND DEVELOP COMMUNITY ACTION TEAMS, ACTIVITIES OR EVENTS. ACTION TEAMS INCLUDE (A) COLLEGE FOOD SECURITY (COLLABORATING WITH THE CAMPUS FOOD PANTRIES AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN DEARBORN AND HENRY FORD COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO ACTIVELY RESPOND TO STUDENT FOOD INSECURITY), (B) ENVIRONMENT (HOLDING FORUMS TO BUILD AWARENESS OF THE LIFELONG HEALTH RISKS OF CONTAMINANTS SUCH AS PFAS WHICH ARE PREVALENT IN SOUTHEAST DEARBORN, AND SUPPORTING MITIGATION OF THESE CONTAMINANTS, AS WELL AS RAISING AWARENESS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THE GREENSPACE LEARNING INITIATIVE AT SALINA ELEMENTARY AND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS AND ENCOURAGING FUNDRAISING FOR THIS PROJECT), (C) MUSIC (OFFERING DIVERSE MONTHLY MUSICAL EXPERIENCES FILLED WITH FELLOWSHIP AND LEARNING), AND (D) EDUCATIONAL FORUMS ABOUT PEACEMAKERS IN PALESTINE-ISRAEL. SPONSORED EVENTS INCLUDE AN EARTH DAY SUSTAINABILITY SWAP IN APRIL BRINGING TOGETHER PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS WORKING ON ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE PROJECTS, AND THE JUNETEENTH WEEKEND LONG CELEBRATION IN DEARBORN.
