ACB, AN AFFILIATE OF THE CENTER FOR THE BOOK OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, IS A NON-PROFIT, ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION CELEBRATING THE RICHNESS AND DIVERSITY OF LANGUAGE. WE WERE FOUNDED IN 1991 TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN LITERACY THROUGH THE SPOKEN AND WRITTEN WORD.

ALASKA READS. A STATEWIDE EVENT CELEBRATING ALASKAN WRITERS AND BOOKS.


READING RENDEZVOUS: AN ANNUAL BOOK FAIR FOR CHILDREN OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE HELD ON THE GROUNDS OR ADJACENT PARK OF THE MAIN PUBLIC LIBRARY IN ANCHORAGE. THIS EVENT KICKS OFF THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL LIBRARIES. THERE ARE GAMES, VISITING AUTHORS, ENTERTAINMENT, PRIZES AND BALLOONS. APPROXIMATELY 2000* ATTENDEES.


NATIONAL BOOKFEST IN WASHINGTON D.C. AN ANNUAL EVENT SPONSORED BY THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. WE SEND ONE OR TWO DELEGATES TO MAN THE ALASKA TABLE. EVERY STATE IS REPRESENTED BY A TABLE CLEBRATING BOOKS AND READING SPECIFIC TO THEIR STATES. FUNDING PROVIDED BY THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.
