NESLL PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR A VARIETY OF DIVISIONS IN BOTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL, DEPENDING ON AGE AND SKILL LEVEL. TEAMS CONSIST OF 12 TO 15 PLAYERS. GAMES ARE PLAYED AT LOCAL PLAYING FIELDS AND COACHED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY. OUR SEASON BEGINS WITH REGISTRATION BEGINNING IN DECEMBER, FOLLOWED BY PLAYER ASSESSMENTS IN FEBRUARY FOR OUR HIGHER DIVISIONS. EXCEPT FOR TEE-BALL, COACH PITCH BASEBALL, AND 78ERS SOFTBALL, PLAYERS ARE ASSIGNED TO TEAMS BASED ON THE PLAYER ASSESSMENTS AND A DRAFT. PRACTICES USUALLY BEGIN IN EARLY MARCH AND GAMES BEGIN IN EARLY APRIL AND END IN MID-JUNE. WE CONDUCT POST-SEASON PLAYOFFS FOR MAJOR AND MINOR DIVISIONS CULMINATING IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES ON CHAMPIONSHIP DAY. SOME PLAYERS ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN POST-SEASON "ALL STAR" TOURNAMENT COMPETITION.
