Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

CENTRAL DISTRICT FORUM FOR ARTS & IDEAS (CD FORUM) CONTINUED OUR COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING WITH A COMBINATION OF MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CURATED PERFORMANCES (DANCE, THEATRE, POETRY, SOLO PERFORMANCE) AND COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS (SOCIAL ISSUES AND ARTISTS TALKS). WITH COVID-19 STILL BEING PREVALENT IN THE WORLD. WE CAUTIOUSLY WERE ABLE TO HAVE OUR FIRST OUTDOOR EVENT PRESENTED BY OUR YOUTH KINGDOM, THE ROYAL KIKI BALL. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IN SEATTLE THAT THE LGBTQIA+ BALL COMMUNITY ALLOWED AN ORGANIZATION TO SPONSOR THEIR EVENT. CD FORUM CO-PRODUCED AND PRESENTED A LIMITED AUDIENCE INVITATION ONLY PERFORMANCE OF MAMAZ MUEZZ BY MONIQUE FRANKLIN. WE CONTINUED OUR WORK WITH FIVE BLACK CHOREOGRAPHERS IN SHIFTING FROM A PERFORMANCE-BASED PROGRAM TO A RESIDENCY FOR OUR MAINSTAY PROGRAM SHOWING OUT: BLACK CONTEMPORARY CHOREOGRAPHERS. IN ADDITION TO THESE TWO PROGRAMS, WE CONTINUED TO HOST COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS AND ARTISTS TALKS VIRTUALLY. CD FORUM BELIEVES BLACKNESS IS NOT A MONOLITH. WE HAVE CONTINUED TO HONOR OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR PROVOCATIVE ARTS AND IDEAS THAT FOSTER AWARENESS OF AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE BLACK EXPERIENCE.
