1,000 YOUNG NIGERIAN AGRIPRENEURS BENEFIT FROM THE ENTREPRENEUR SUPPORT PROGRAM 10 CHANGEMAKERS BENEFIT FROM AFC'S NARRATIVE CHANGERS AFRICAN FOOD FELLOWSHIP AFC ORGANIZED A WORKSHOP IN DECEMBER 2022 ON BUILDING RESILIENCE AGAINST CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SHOCKS (BRACE) FOR AGRIBUSINESSES. THE WORKSHOP WAS ATTENDED BY AGRISMES, CLIMATE CHANGE EXPERTS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE DEVELOPMENT SECTOR, WHO DISCUSS SUSTAINABLE WAYS IMPROVING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY WHILE INCORPORATING CLIMATE-SMART PRACTICES INTO THEIR OPERATIONS AND BUSINESS MODELS. THE WORKSHOP NOW SETS THE STAGE FOR THE BRACE PROGRAM WHICH WILL BE LAUNCHING THIS YEAR IN JUNE 2022, AFC CONVENED ENTREPRENEURS IN KIGALI, RWANDA PROVIDING A PLATFORM TO CREATE DEEP CONNECTIONS LOCALLY AND EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW PARTNERSHIPS AND GROWTH. THE CONVENING WAS ATTENDED BY THE AFC TEAM AS WELL AS EXISTING AND ASPIRING AFC MEMBERS. IN SEPTEMBER 2022, WE RETURNED TO THE LAND OF A THOUSAND HILLS TO JOIN THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY FOR THE ANNUAL AGRF SUMMIT THEMED 'GROW, NOURISH, REWARD: BOLD ACTIONS FOR RESILIENT FOOD SYSTEMS'. AFC SPONSORED TWO MEMBERS OF OUR ENTREPRENEUR COMMUNITY TO ATTEND THE SUMMIT FROM LAGOS, NIGERIA AND CONNECTED WITH SEVERAL OTHER CHANGEMAKERS IN THE COMMUNITY FROM SOUTH AFRICA, KENYA, TANZANIA, ANGOLA, UGANDA AND RWANDA. AFC TEAM MEMBERS AND ENTREPRENEURS SPOKE AT VARIOUS SESSIONS AT THE AGRF, MAKING A CASE FOR CLIMATE ACTION, GENDER AND YOUTH INCLUSIVITY, DRIVING ENTREPRENEURSHIP GROWTH, AND BUILDING A RESILIENT FOOD ECOSYSTEM IN AFRICA.
