DIGITAL INCLUSION SUMMIT:THE ORGANIZATION WILL HOST AN ANNUAL DIGITAL INCLUSION SUMMIT THAT BRINGS TOGETHER SOME OF THE COUNTRYS BEST AND BRIGHTEST MULTICULTURAL LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS TO EDUCATE, AND TO EXCHANGE IDEAS, SHARE PERSPECTIVES, AND PROVIDE INSIGHT ON AN INCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGICAL FUTURE. SPEAKERS AT THE ORGANIZATIONS DIGITAL INCLUSION SUMMITS HAVE INCLUDED VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS, VARIOUS MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, LEADERS FROM FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND LATINO NONPROFIT AND INDUSTRY LEADERS. THIS EVENT WILL INCREASE VISIBILITY, PARTICIPATION, AND ATTENDANCE BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON SUCH TOPICS. TOPICS INCLUDE PRIVACY, DIGITAL CIVIL RIGHTS, TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION, DIGITAL SKILLS, BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS AND ADOPTABILITY. THE PURPOSE IS ALSO TO FACILITATE DISCUSSION AMONG LEADERS IN THE FIELD. WE ESTIMATE THAT OVER 200 PEOPLE HAVE VIEWED OUR DIGITAL INCLUSION SERIES ONLINE.
THE ORGANIZATION SERVES CHARITABLE PURPOSES BY ADVOCATING AND EDUCATING FOR THE UNDERPRIVELEGED AND LESSENING DESCRIMINATION IN ITS WORK TO ENSURE THAT THE FULL ARRAY OF TECHNOLOGICAL AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS ADVANCEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL LATINO PEOPLE ACROSS THE UNITED STATES.THE EDUCATIONAL POLICY SERVES EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES BY PROVIDING INSTRUCTION OF THE PUBLIC, AGENCIES, AND PARTNERS ON BENEFICIAL PROGRAMS AND POLICIES THAT BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING THE IMPORTANCE OF TECH EQUITY AND THE AVAILABLE OF RELEVANT SUBSIDIES TO LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS.PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHES THIS WITH ONLINE BLOG POSTS, EMAIL NEWS LETTERS, AND LETTER WRITING.
TECH INNOVADORES AWARDS:THE ORGANIZATION WILL HOST ANNUAL EVENTS HONORING A NUMBER OF TECHINNOVADORES (TECH INNOVATORS) WORKING ACROSS THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR FOR THEIR EXTRAORDINARY WORK AS LEADERS IN TECHNOLOGY AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY. THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS A RECEPTION TO CELEBRATE AND ELEVATE THE WORK OF THESE VISIONARY, INNOVATIVE, AND COLLABORATIVE DIGITAL INCLUSION ADVOCATES WHO WORK TO ADVANCE SOLUTIONSTHAT PROMOTE EQUITY, CIVIL RIGHTS, AND DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL. THIS EVENT WILL HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR WITH INCREASED VISIBILITY AND INSPIRATION FOR FUTURE LEADERS IN THE FIELD. ACP PARA MI EVENTS AND RESOURCES:THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATES IN AND HOSTS EDUCATIONAL AND SIGN-UP EVENTS IN SUPPORT OF ITS ACP PARA MI INITIATIVE, WHICH RAISES AWARENESS OF THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ADOPTABILITY OF THE AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM (THE ACP), A FEDERAL SUBSIDY THAT HELPS CONNECT LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS TO THE INTERNET. PROVIDING BILINGUAL SUPPORT INENGLISH AND SPANISH, ACP PARA MI IS A RESOURCE HUB THAT HELPS ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS NAVIGATE THIS BENEFITS PROCESS. BECAUSE MANY INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING ACP-ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS A HIGH SPEED PLAN FOR NO MORE THAN THE AMOUNT OF THEFEDERAL SUBSIDY AMOUNT, FAMILIES RECEIVING THE ACP CAN OFTEN ACCESS HIGH-QUALITY INTERNET AT NO COST.
