THE COALITION FOR WORKER POWER (DBA WORKER POWER COALITION) IS A GROUNDBREAKING PARTNERSHIP OF WORKERS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS AND LABOR UNIONS UNITED IN THE UNDERSTANDING THAT RESTORING A FAIR BALANCE OF POWER BETWEEN WORKERS AND EMPLOYERS IS CRITICAL TO PROTECTING DEMOCRACY, FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE AND BUILDING RACIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE. ALL ORGANIZATIONS WITH AN INTEREST IN REFORMING AMERICA'S OUTDATED LABOR LAWS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE WORKER POWER COALITION. AS WE WORK TOGETHER TO BUILD WORKER POWER, BELOW ARE THE COMMITMENTS WE SHARE:- SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR THE PROTECTING THE RIGHT TO ORGANIZE ACT.- PURSUING WORK DEDICATED TO UPDATING AMERICA'S OUTDATED LABOR LAWS SO THAT WORKERS IN AMERICA ARE PAID FAIRLY FOR THEIR WORK, RECEIVE QUALITY HEALTH CARE, HAVE SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS, TIME OFF TO SPEND WITH THEIR FAMILY, AND ARE FREE FROM RETALIATION FROM EMPLOYERS FOR SPEAKING OUT ABOUT THESE ISSUES.- INCORPORATING A LENS OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN OUR WORK SO THAT WE MAY PURSUE RACIAL, GENDER AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE FOR ALL WORKERS.- INVESTING ORGANIZATION RESOURCES AS WE ARE ABLE - WHETHER IN THE FORM OF STAFF TIE, VOLUNTEERISM, FINANCIAL RESOURCES, POLICY EXPERTISE, ETC. - IN ORDER TO SEE THE GOALS OF THE COALITION MET.- EDUCATING OUR OWN MEMBERSHIP/BASE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PRO ACT AND HOW LABOR LAW REFORM INTERSECTS WITH OTHER PROGRESSIVE PRIORITIES.
