THE SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY ACTION FUND ENGAGED IN A LOCAL CAMPAIGN TO ALERT MONTGOMERY COUNTY MD RESIDENTS ABOUT A ZONING BILL GOVERNING CELL TOWER PLACEMENT THAT WOULD ADVERSELY IMPACT THEIR HEALTH, SAFETY AND PROPERTY VALUES AND URGED THEM TO REACH OUT TO THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL TO MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD. THE ORGANIZATION:- SENT 5,000 POST CARDS TO RESIDENTS OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD TO ASK THEM TO TAKE ACTION ON THE ZONING BILL BY REACHING OUT TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBERS - CONDUCTED DAILY IN PERSON CANVASSING OPERATIONS (RESIDENTIAL DOOR KNOCKING AND SITE BASED) TO REACH OUT TO AFFECTED MONTGOMERY COUNTY RESIDENTS ENLISTING THEM TO SIGN A PETITION OPPOSING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND TO CONTACT THEIR OWN COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBER. CONTRACT STAFF DIRECTLY CONTACTED 3835 RESIDENTS AND COLLECTED 1760 PETITION SIGNATURES-CONDUCTED AN ONLINE OUTREACH CAMPAIGN CONSISTING OF EMAIL OUT REACH AND DIGITAL ADVERTISEMENTSTHE ORGANIZATION ALSO DIRECTLY LOBBIED THE 9 MEMBERS OF THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL TO ENLIST THEM TO OPPOSE THE ORDINANCE AS DRAFTED.
