THE TOOLBOX IS THE GO-TO RESOURCE FOR EVERYTHING SMALL BUSINESS IN WYANDOTTE COUNTY, KANSAS. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT WITH PLANNING, REGISTERING, FUNDING, OPERATING, AND GROWING YOUR BUSINESS. WE TAKE THE INTIMIDATING CHECKLIST OF STARTING AND OPERATING A BUSINESS AND DISTILL IT DOWN INTO THE ESSENTIALS THROUGH PRIVATE ONE-ON-ONE SMALL BUSINESS COACHING. ALL OF OUR SERVICES ARE OFFERED AT NO COST TO LOCAL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES. OUR VISION IS TO EMPOWER THE COMMUNITY TO OWN THEIR ECONOMIC FUTURE.

IN 2023, WE CONDUCTED 390 INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATIONS, TOTALING OVER 639 HOURS OF DEDICATED SUPPORT. THESE CONSULTATIONS SERVED 218 DISTINCT SMALL BUSINESSES, OF WHICH 172 WERE NEW CLIENTS AND 46 WERE RETURNING CLIENTS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. OUR CLIENT BASE INCLUDED 119 FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS AND 99 MALE ENTREPRENEURS, DEMONSTRATING OUR INCLUSIVE APPROACH TO BUSINESS SUPPORT. WE WERE PROUD TO SERVE 156 IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEURS ALONGSIDE 62 U.S.-BORN ENTREPRENEURS, HIGHLIGHTING OUR COMMITMENT TO REACHING ALL SEGMENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY. TO ENSURE ACCESSIBILITY, WE PROVIDED 126 CONSULTATIONS IN SPANISH, 82 IN ENGLISH, AND 9 IN OTHER LANGUAGES. OUR CLIENT DEMOGRAPHICS INCLUDED 177 HISPANIC ENTREPRENEURS, 20 BLACK ORAFRICAN-AMERICAN ENTREPRENEURS, 12 CAUCASIAN ENTREPRENEURS, AND 10 INDIVIDUALS FROM OTHER ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS. THESE EFFORTS CONTRIBUTED TO THE CREATION OF 70 NEW STARTUPS IN 2023.
THROUGHOUT 2023, WE SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED 15 COHORTS WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF 170 SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. THIS INCLUDED FOUR 10-WEEK COHORTS OF OUR "INTRO TO EXCEL FOR BUSINESS" PROGRAM, FROM WHICH 59 ENTREPRENEURS GRADUATED. ADDITIONALLY, WE CONDUCTED FIVE 4-WEEK COHORTS OF THE "YOUR PLAN OF ACTION BUSINESS START-UP" PROGRAM, GRADUATING 64 INDIVIDUALS. WE ALSO FACILITATED FOUR 7-WEEK COHORTS OF OUR "INTRO TO QUICKBOOKS" PROGRAM, RESULTING IN 41 SMALL BUSINESS GRADUATES. FURTHERMORE, WE ORGANIZED TWO 6-WEEK COHORTS OF "THE BLUEPRINT: SUBCONTRACTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM," WHERE 13 SUBCONTRACTORS COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING.
WE CONDUCTED 35 WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, DRAWING IN 390 ATTENDEES IN 2023.
