THE COUNCIL ON SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELS ACCOUNTABILITY (COSAFA) WILL ESTABLISH REPORTING, ACCOUNTING, RECORDKEEPING, AND AUDITING PROCEDURES THAT ARE BOTH NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE TO MAINTAIN AN ACCURATE ACCOUNTING OF THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELS (SAF). TO QUALIFY AS SAF, FUEL MUST BE FIT FOR PURPOSE. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT PRODUCT CARBON INTENSITY AND OTHER SUSTAINABILITY DATA BE CONSISTENTLY REPORTED, AUDITABLE, AND TRACEABLE TO THE PARTY PROVIDING THE INFORMATION. WELL-DESIGNED PROTOCOLS FOR CHAIN OF CUSTODY, THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SUPPLY CHAIN LIFE CYCLE, WILL ALLOW PRODUCT AND TRANSACTION TRACING, PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATE MEANS OF VERIFYING RELEVANT DATA, AND PREVENT INAPPROPRIATE DOUBLE COUNTING OR DOUBLE CLAIMING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CREDITS.

OUTREACH AND 3 ENGAGEMENTS WERE CONDUCTED THROUGH INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS,CONFERENCE PANEL PARTICIPATION, WRITTEN COMMUNICATION, AND WORKING GROUPS
WORKING GROUPS: COSAFA HELD A SERIES OF MEETINGS AND WORKING GROUPS TO BRINGCRITICAL PARTIES TO THE TABLE TO DISCUSS THE DEVELOPMENT OF SAF GAAP TO ENSURE APRACTICAL AND PRAGMATIC SOLUTION THAT FITS THE NEEDS OF THE ENTIRE ECOSYSTEM.
