NORTHERN VALLEY HARM REDUCTION COALITION (NVHRC) BEGAN AS A COMMUNITY LED EFFORT COMMITTED TO REDUCING HARM AND PROVIDING EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND DIRECT SERVICES TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITHIN BUTTE COUTY, CA AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES. NVHRC RECOGNIZES THAT TO IMPLEMENT HOLISTIC AND EFFECTIVE CHANGE, WE MUST REACH OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH A PARTICIPANT-CENTERED APPROACH. WE ACCEPT, FOR BETTER OR WORSE, THAT PRESCRIPTION AND NON-PRESCRIPTION DRUG USE IS PART OF OUR WORLD AND WE CHOOSE TO WORK TO MINIMIZE ITS HARMFUL EFFECTS RATHER THAN SIMPLY IGNORE OR CONDEMN THEM. OUR VISION IS FOR ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO LIVE SAFER AND HEALTHIER LIVES, REGARDLESS OF RACE, ETHNICITY, GENDER, GENDER EXPRESSION, HOUSING STATUS, FINANCIAL STATUS, IMMIGRATION STATUS, CURRENT SUBSTANCE USE, DISABILITY, AGE, MENTAL HEALTH STATUS, INCARCERATION STATUS, RELIGION AND ANY OTHER UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES NOT LISTED.

NORTHERN VALLEY HARM REDUCTION COALITION IS A 501C3 NON-PROFIT AND PHYSICIAN LEAD HARM REDUCTION PROGRAM. OUR PROGRAM PROVIDES LIFE SAVING NALOXONE, OVERDOSE REVERSAL TRAINING, SAFE USE SUPPLIES, SYRINGE DISPOSAL, HIV/HCV TESTING, DRUG TREATMENT/SERVICE NAVIGATION, AS WELL AS IMMEDIATE NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD, CLOTHING, AND HYGIENE SUPPLIES TO PERSONS WHO USE DRUGS AND THE COMMUNITY. OUR ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO HELP PEOPLE WHO USE DRUGS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM INJURY/INFECTION AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SAFETY NET SERVICES. WE ARE COMMITTED TO REDUCING HARM AND PROVIDING EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND DIRECT SERVICES TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITHIN BUTTE COUNTY. 100% OF OUR FUNDS ARE USED IN THIS PROGRAM.
