THE PRIMARY PURPOSES OF THE CERTIFIED SEAFOOD COLLABORATIVE ARE:TO CREATE AND PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE MECHANISMS THAT WILL PROVIDE INDEPENDENT THIRD-PARTY VERIFICATION OF SUSTAINABLE MANAGED FISHERIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND TRAINING ACROSS NORTH AMERICA. TO PROMOTE THE CONSUMPTION OF SUSTAINABLE MANAGED SEAFOOD BY PROVIDING ASSURANCES TO A LABELED CERTIFIED CLAIM THAT A SEAFOOD PRODUCT ORIGINATES FROM A CERTIFIED FISHERY.TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS, RESOURCES, AND MEDIA COLLATERAL THAT IS DIRECTED AT ASSISTING CONSUMERS IN UNDERSTANDING SUSTAINABLE FISHERY MANAGEMENT.
