TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE NATURAL HABITAT, OPEN SPACE, AND AGRICULTURE FOR PEOPLE AND WILDLIFE THAT PROMOTES GROUNDWATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY TO PRESERVE THE FARMING ECONOMY OF THE SOUTHERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

1) LAND FALLOWING AND COVER CROPPING PROGRAM - 1,543 ACRES OF AG LAND OUT OF PORDUCTION FOR 12 MONTHS TO SAVE APPROXIMATELY 3,086 AF OF WATER, COVER CROPS WERE PLANTED PRIOR TO RAINS TO PROTECT THE LANDS FROM EROSION, WEEDS, AND TO PROVIDE HABITAT FOR MIGRATING BIRDS. 2) CAPINERO PROJECT - ENTERED ESCROW TO PURCHASE APPROXIMATELY 467.29 ACRES FOR HABITAT RESTORATION.
