WHY IS #SUPPLYCHAINOKI DOING THIS WORK?SCOKI WAS CREATED TO HELP EMPLOYERS MEET THEIR WORKFORCE NEEDS. THIS WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY HELPING ADULTS AND STUDENTS GET JOBS WITH CAREERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN, CONSTRUCTION AND MANUFACTURING. THIS WAS DONE THROUGH IN PERSON LUNCH & LEARNS, JOB SHADOWING, TOURS, COOP JOBS AND CAREER EXPOS. -OVER 60 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVED JOB READINESS AND LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT TRAINING. -OVER 70 ADULTS FROM COMMUNITY PROGRAMS RECEIVED JOB READINESS AND LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT TRAINING. -BUSINESS PARTNERS PARTICIPATED IN HIRING EVENTS AT HIGH SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES AND SPONSORED THEIR OWN HIRING EVENTS. -WE DEVELOPED TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS THAT WILL HELP ADULTS AND STUDENTS GET TO AND FROM JOBS. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT BARRIER FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY. -WE CREATED PAID, SUMMER TEACHER EXTERNSHIPS AT MEMBER COMPANIES TO EXPOSE THEM TO THE GREAT PAYING JOBS AND CAREERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN, CONSTRUCTION AND MANUFACTURING.-WE CREATED AN ACADEMY PROGRAM THAT WILL ALLOW YOUTH AND ADULTS GET INDUSTRY ACCEDITED TRAINING SO THEY ARE BETTER PREPARED FOR JOBS.
