THROUGH ITS SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY, EASE ALLIANCE CONTINUES TO ASSIST PLAN SPONSORS USING THE EASE STRUCTURE IN DEFENDING AGAINST UNWARRANTED AND ILLEGAL REGULATION BY STATE DEPARTMENTS OF INSURANCE CHALLENGING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ERISA SINGLE-EMPLOYER SELF-INSURED PLANS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT RULING OBTAINED IN SEPTEMBER 2019. THROUGH ITS SUPPORT, THE FIFTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS ISSUED A RULING AFFIRMING IN THE MAIN THIS DISTRICT COURT RULING. EASE ALLIANCE CONTINUES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE LITIGATION AS THE CASE HAS BEEN REMANDED TO THE DISTRICT COURT FOR A REFINEMENT OF THE ORIGINAL RULING. ADDITIONALLY, EASE ALLIANCE HAS PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE ONGOING LEGAL NEEDS IN INTERACTING WITH STATE DEPARTMENTS OF INSURANCE THAT CONTINUE TO ENGAGE IN ILLEGAL REGULATION OF EASE STRUCTURE PLANS.
