CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS: WILD BEAR NATURE CENTER PROVIDES CHILDREN AGES 5-15 WITHEDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL HOURS; AFTER-SCHOOL, DAYS OFF, AND ALL SUMMER. WILD BEAR IS A CCCAP (COLORADO CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) PROVIDER AND 49% OF PARTICIPANTS ARE IDENTIFIED AS LOW-INCOME AND ACCESS PROGRAMS THROUGH CCCAP AND DONOR SUPPORTED SCHOLARSHIPS. IN 2020-21 DURING COVID, WILD BEAR CONTINUED TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS FOR CHLDREN DURING THE SUMMER AND DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR WILD BEAR PROVIDED 307 PROGRAMS TO 2,020 CHILDREN WHO EXPLORED THE INDIAN PEAKS WILDERNESS, MUD LAKE AND CARIBOU RANCH OPEN SPACES, AND OTHER SURROUNDING NATURAL AREAS.SCHOOL PROGRAMS: WILD BEAR PROVIDES NATURAL SCIENCE PROGRAMS TO SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS AT MUD LAKE OR AT THE NATURE CENTER. SCHOOL DISTRICTS CANCELLED ALL FIELD TRIPS, HOWEVER WILD BEAR PROVIDED 14 SCHOOL GROUP PROGRAMS TO 223 CHILDREN. INTERGENERATIONAL FAMILY PROGRAMS AND VISITATION: THE FREE INTERIM NATURE CENTER, LOCATED IN A COMMERCIAL SPACE WAS OPEN WITH COVID PROTOCOL, ENGAGING PEOPLE OF ALL AGES IN HANDS-ON NATURE EXHIBITS. WILD BEAR PROVIDED 53 ADULT/FAMILY PROGRAMS TO THE 1,641 PARTICIPANTS AND ENJOYED 18,070 GENERAL VISITORS TO THE FREE NATURE CENTER.
