INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES: INCLUDES SERVICES AND PROGRAMS THAT ASSIST ALL PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN ACHIEVING AND MAINTAINING INDEPENDENCE INCLUDING: INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING, PEER SUPPORT, INDIVIDUAL AND SYSTEMS ADVOCACY, YOUTH AND NURSING HOME TRANSITIONS, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, AS WELL AS SPECIALTY PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT, VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES, AND PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT.
PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES (ALSO KNOWN AS HOME HEALTH SERVICES): PROVIDES SKILLED AND UNSKILLED NURSING CARE, PERSONAL CARE, AND HOMEMAKING FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES SO THEY CAN REMAIN INDEPENDENT IN THEIR OWN HOME VS PREMATURE TRANSITION TO NURSING CARE.
