NATIONAL UNIFIED MARKETING PLAN DIRECT SUPPORT WESTERN DAIRY ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO HELP SUPPORT THE NATIONAL UNIFIED MARKETING PLAN FOR PROMOTION AND RESEARCH OF NON-BRANDED DAIRY PRODUCTS.


PRODUCER RELATIONS & INDUSTRY IMAGE AND RELATIONS PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL AND REGIONAL NON BRANDED DAIRY PROMOTION PROGRAM WDA IS DEDICATED TO GAINING THE PUBLIC TRUST AND ENHANCING DAIRYS IMAGE BY SHOWCASING THE VALUE OF HAVING A "BEST IN CLASS" DAIRY INDUSTRY IN THE REGION. THROUGH ITS COMMUNICATIONS, ISSUES MANAGEMENT, CRISIS PREPAREDNESS AND DAIRY FARMER IMAGE, THE OVER-ARCHING INDUSTRY IMAGE AND RELATIONS (II&R) GOALS ARE TO MAINTAIN AND BUILD AWARENESS OF AND SUPPORT FOR THE DAIRY CHECKOFF PROGRAM AMONG DAIRY PRODUCERS AND THE DAIRY INDUSTRY; HELP MAINTAIN AND GROW PUBLIC CONFIDENCE IN DAIRY PRODUCERS, DAIRY PRODUCTS AND THE DAIRY INDUSTRY; THE PRODUCER RELATIONS AND INDUSTRY IMAGE AND RELATIONS PROGRAM WILL BE DEVELOPED WITH NINE CORE COMPETENCIES.


CHILD NUTRITION AND FITNESS PROGRAM DEDICATED TO SCHOOLS IN THE WESTERN DAIRY ASSOCIATION MARKET STATES TO ENHANCE THE HEALTH AND NUTRITION OF CHILDREN IN SCHOOL. FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 (FUTP60) IS DESIGNED TO BUILD ON EXISTING NATIONAL DAIRY COUNCIL HEALTH AND NUTRITION PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM IS WELL-RECEIVED AS IT HELPS SCHOOLS MEET BASIC NEEDS AND REACH WIDER WELLNESS GOALS. FOR DAIRY, IT MAKES PROGRESS TOWARD DAIRY PRODUCT ACCESS IN SCHOOLS. FUTP60'S INITIAL SUCCESSES HAVE ATTRACTED SUPPORT FROM USDA, MULTIPLE HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS, MEDIA, AND KEY CORPORATIONS. ULTIMATELY, FUTP60 WILL FURTHER CEMENT DAIRY'S LEADERSHIP AROUND THE CHILDRENS HEALTH; MEASURABLY ADVANCE THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF AMERICA'S YOUTH; AND ESTABLISH LIFELONG DAIRY CONSUMERS. OVERALL PROGRAM GOALS ARE TO MOBILIZE AND ENGAGE YOUTH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NFL; TO FACILITATE CHANGES IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT; TO INCREASE ACCESS TO AND CONSUMPTION OF NUTRIENT RICH FOODS (PARTICULARLY LOW-FAT, FAT-FREE DAIRY, FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND WHOLE GRAINS); AND INCREASE OPPORTUNITY FOR AND INVOLVEMENT IN 60 MINUTES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY DAILY.
