Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION IS TO MAXIMIZE THE CAPACITY OF FIRST RESPONDERS TO SAVE LIVES WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY. THE ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORT COMES PRIMARILY FROM FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS AND PRIVATE DONORS CONTRIBUTIONS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
SOLAR RESPONDERS WAS FORMED IN RESPONSE TO THE PUERTO RICO FIRE DEPARTMENTS DEMAND FOR RELIABLE POWER. AFTER HURRICANE MARIA STRUCK PUERTO RICO IN 2017, FIRST RESPONDERS WERE FORCED TO USE DIRTY, UNRELIABLE DIESEL GENERATORS FOR POWER. AS FUEL AND OTHER SUPPLIES RAN OUT AND MECHANICAL PARTS FAILED, FIRST RESPONDERS BECAME STRANDED, UNABLE TO RECEIVE AND SEND URGENT CALLS FOR HELP. BY HARNESSING SOLAR POWER, FIRST RESPONDERS CAN FOCUS ON SAVING LIVES RATHER THAN KEEPING THEIR GENERATORS RUNNING. ABUNDANT AND RELIABLE SUNSHINE IS MORE DEPENDABLE, EFFICIENT, ECONOMICAL AND ECO-FRIENDLY THAN IMPORTED FOSSIL FUELS. OUR SOLAR INSTALLATIONS ARE DESIGNED TO WORK 24/7, WHEN THE SUN IS NOT SHINING AND WHEN THE POWER GRID FAILS. WITH SOLAR-PLUS-STORAGE, FIRST RESPONDERS WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE AND CAN SAVE LIVES WITHOUT DISRUPTION..
