Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS TO MOBILIZE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER. WE WORK WITH ARTISTS, PROMOTERS, MANAGEMENT, AND VENUES NATIONWIDE TO DONATE UNUSED, BACKSTAGE MEALS TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS SERVING AT LEAST 50% VETERANS AND WHO FOCUS ON FEEDING THE HOMELESS, HUNGRY, AND FOOD INSECURE. MUSICALLY FED IDENTIFIES THE OPPORTUNITIES, PROCURES THE RESOURCES, AND COORDINATES ALL ASPECTS OF FOOD HANDLING, TRANSPORT, AND DISTRIBUTION. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE IT EASY FOR PROMOTERS AND PERFORMERS TO LEAVE EACH CITY THEY VISIT WITH A LASTING, POSITIVE IMPACT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
MUSICALLY FED CONTINUED ITS PANDEMIC INITIATIVE THROUGH THE END OF JUNE 2021 WITH CAR DRIVE THRUS IN SEVERAL LARGE CITIES WHERE THOSE IN-NEED SEEMED TO BE THE GREATEST. LIVE EVENTS SLOWLY MADE A COMEBACK AS A RESULT OF PRETESTING FOR COVID-19 PRIOR TO ENTERING LIVE EVENT VENUES. IN OTHER WORDS, MUSICALLY FED DISTRIBUTED BOXES OF GROCERIES AND ESSENTIALS TO OUT-OF-WORK, BACK-LINE WORKERS AND AT MIDYEAR MARK WE SHIFTED TO OUR MAIN MISSION OF REPURPOSING BACKSTAGE CONCERT CATERING TO THE FOOD INSECURE. TO DATE MUSICALLY FED HAS PROVIDED 356,000 MEALS NATIONALLY AND REDUCED WASTE IN THE PROCESS.
MUSICALLY FED PLANNED WITH THE LESSENING OF COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS TO RESTART REGULAR DELIVERY OF FOOD ITEMS TO VETERANS ORGANIZATIONS. INSTEAD THE COVID-19 VARIANTS REMAINED AN OBSTACLE TO PROVIDING OUR VETERANS WITH FRESH FOOD. WITH THE HELP OF MUTT NATION, MUSICALLY FED CREATED AN INITIATIVE CALLED PETS FOR VETS PROGRAM. THE OCT 2021 PROGRAM PROVIDED DOG BEDS, BASKETS, DOG TREATS AND MUTT NATION DOG FOOD.
IN THE 2ND HALF OF 2021, AS COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES LESSENED, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS COMMENCED. MUSICALLY FED REPURPOSED APPROX 38,900 MEALS FROM BACKSTAGE AND VIP CATERING AT CONCERTS, FESTIVALS AND SPORTS EVENTS. THE MEALS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND SOME VETERANS HOUSES SERVING THE FOOD INSECURE AND THOSE IN NEED.
