Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

CIVL SERVES THE PURPOSE OF BRINGING TOGETHER THE COLLECTIVE RESOURCES OF THE INDEPENDENT PRIVATE PERFORMANCE VENUES ACROSS THE CITY OF CHICAGO TO ENSURE THE STABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF SUCH INDEPENDENT VENUS IN THE FACE OF LARGER, WELL-RESOURCED ORGANIZATIONS WHO HAVE MADE IT INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT FOR INDEPENDENT VENUES TO EXIST TO SERVE THE PERFORMERS AND AUDIENCES WHO ARE UNLIKELY TO BE SERVED OTHERWISE. OUR ACTIVITIES AND EXPENDITURES WILL INCLUDE THE COLLECTIVE USE OF RESOURCE TO SECURE PERFORMERS, MARKET EVENTS, AND SHARE THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE REALITIES OF OPERATING INDEPENDENT, SMALL VENUES IN TODAY'S MARKET, SO THAT WE MAY BETTER SERVE THE COMMUNITIES OF ARTISTS AND THOSE THEY INSPIRE. ALL ACTIVITIES AND EXPENDITURES ARE TO ADVANCE THE INDEPENDENT PRIVATE PERFORMANCE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE AND NOT TO BENEFIT ANY SOLE MEMBER.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

COMMUNITY VENUE SUPPORT: LAUNCHED THE CITY'S FIRST JOB BOARD FOR INDEPENDENT VENUES TO POST ON FOR FREE, A RESOURCE GUIDE FOR ALL OF OUR MEMBERS TO UTILIZE FOR OPERATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES, AND HOLDING COMMUNITY GATHERINGS FOR GENERAL IDEA SHARING/COLLABORATION.

COMMUNITY FESTIVAL: DESIGNED A COMMUNITY PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM THAT SPANNED ACROSS THE CITY OF CHICAGO WHERE WE SOLICITED PARTNERS, PERFORMING ARTISTS, COMMUNITY NON-PROFITS, AND LOCAL STAKEHOLDER TO SUPPORT THE ARTS AT CIVL FEST 2023.

GOVERNMENT AND STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS: WORKED WITH THE CITY OF CHICAGO ENTITIES DCASE, BACP, AND CDPH TO DISCUSS MUTUAL AID, IDEA SHARING AMONGST ENTITIES/ORGS, AND STRENGTHENING INDEPENDENT VENUE OWNERS ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH AND UNDERSTAND REGULATION AND SUPPORT INSTITUTIONS. WE DUALLY PRACTICE THIS WITH HYPER-LOCAL NON PROFITS WHO ARE LOOKING TO STRENGTHEN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH CITY ENTITIES THAT MAY ENHANCE ANY GIVEN ORGANIZATION'S ABILITY TO PROVIDE IMPACT THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS.
