BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WAS CREATED TO STRENGTHEN HUMAN SERVICES, EDUCATION/WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND COASTAL PRESERVATION EFFORTS IN LAFOURCHE PARISH, TERREBONNE PARISH AND GRAND ISLE, LOUISIANA.

HURRICANE IDA MADE LANDFALL IN THE BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SERVICE AREA, CAUSING MASSIVE DESTRUCTION IN LAFOURCHE PARISH, TERREBONNE PARISH, AND GRANDE ISLE. BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ACTIVATED ITS BAYOU RECOVERY FUND FOR HURRICANE IDA RELIEF ON AUGUST 27 AND FUNDED GRANTS TO LOCAL NONPROFITS PROVIDED CRITICAL RELIEF AND RECOVERY SERVICES TO RESIDENTS IN NEED.


BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDED GRANTS TO 30 NONPROFITS WORKING IN LAFOURCHE, TERREBONNE, AND GRAND ISLE AS PART OF THE FOUNDATION'S 2021 ANNUAL NONPROFIT GRANTS PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HELPS TO FILL UNMET NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY RELATED TO HUMAN SERVICES, EDUCATION, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, AND COASTAL ISSUES.


BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HOSTED THE THIRD ANNUAL BAYOU REGION CONFERENCE FOR NONPROFITS IN A VIRTUAL FORMAT DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS FROM 92 LOCAL NONPROFITS AND FOUNDATIONS PARTICIPATED IN ONLINE WORKSHOPS AND DISCUSSIONS FOCUSED ON FUND DEVELOPMENT, GRANT WRITING, AND RESILIENCY PLANNING.


BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CONDUCTED AN ONLINE COMMUNITY GIVING EVENT AND DISTRIBUTED FUNDS COLLECTED TO THE PARTICIPATING NONPROFITS LOCATED IN THE BAYOU COMMUNITY SERVICE AREA .
