CIL SUPPORTED FRONT-LINE, STATE-BASED, AND EMERGING TAX-EXEMPT PROGRESSIVE ORGANIZATIONS TO ACCESS HIGH-IMPACT DATA, LICENSE TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES, AND MAXIMIZE THEIR IMPACT WITH ACCESS TO A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE AND TRAINING RESOURCES. KEY PROGRAMS INCLUDED A GRASSROOTS DEEP CANVASSING EXPERIMENT TO UNDERSTAND COOPERATIVE RESOURCING OF ACTION AND ACTIVISM; CONTINUATION OF THE FAIR HOUSING PROJECT TO INNOVATE THE PRACTICE AND TOOLS OF COMMUNITY STATE BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO FOSTER VOLUNTEER AND MEMBER-LED BASE-BUILDING; COMPLETION OF THE DIGITAL INNOVATION FUND WHICH SUPPORTED PROGRESSIVE ORGANIZATIONS WITH EXPERIMENTATION OF NEW VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATION; AND A NEW COLLABORATION WITH A GROUP OF TECHNOLOGISTS TO INNOVATIVE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR TAX-EXEMPT NONPROFITS.


CIL CONTINUED TO EXPLORE AND DEVELOP PROOFS OF CONCEPT FOR A NEW COOPERATIVE MODEL-BASED EXPERIMENT FOR DIGITAL STRATEGY (FORMERLY INFLUENCER ACTIVISM). FOR THIS STRATEGY, CIL INTERVIEWED OVER 20 DIGITAL PRACTITIONERS AND INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAMS TO TAKE PART IN A DIGITAL INQUIRY, WHICH INCLUDED AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF THE DIGITAL NEEDS OF PROGRESSIVE GROUPS, INCLUDING TAX-EXEMPT NONPROFITS WITH A BROAD RANGE OF TYPES (STATE, NATIONAL, HAS AFFILIATES), BUDGET SIZES (SMALL TO VERY LARGE), AND ORGANIZATIONAL FOCUSES ("DIGITAL-FIRST" VS. TRADITIONAL/TERRESTRIAL ORGANIZING). CIL WILL PUBLISH A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT ON FINDINGS AND NEXT STEPS IN 2022.


CIL CONTINUED TO EXPLORE AND DEVELOP PROOFS OF CONCEPT FOR A NEW COOPERATIVE MODEL BASED EXPERIMENT FOR FINANCE AND OPERATIONS STRATEGY. FOR THIS STRATEGY, CIL PROVIDED TRAINING AND COACHING TO WELL OVER 50 TAX-EXEMPT NONPROFITS TO UNDERSTAND AND DEVELOP COOPERATIVE RESOURCES AND MODELS TO ELEVATE THE FINANCE AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY, EFFICACY, AND SCALE OF LAUNCH AND GROWTH SOCIAL JUSTICE NONPROFITS.
